Fundy ("we," "our," or "the app") is a personal finance management application developed by Cartly Corp. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use Fundy on Android and iOS devices.
By using Fundy, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

4. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
Core app functionality: To track your finances, generate reports, manage budgets, and provide AI-powered insights
AI-powered features: To process natural language entries (Smart Log) and parse receipt/statement images using AI
Family sync: To synchronize financial data across devices for Family tier subscribers
Personalization: To learn your spending categories and provide smarter auto-categorization over time
Subscription management: To manage your subscription tier and enforce feature usage limits
5. Data Storage & Security
Local storage: Your financial data is primarily stored on your device using secure local storage (AsyncStorage). This data stays on your device unless you opt into cloud sync features.
Cloud storage (Family tier): If you use the Family sync feature, your financial data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore servers located in the Asia-Southeast 1 region. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/SSL).
Authentication: User authentication is handled securely through Firebase Authentication with email/password credentials. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
Security measures: We implement app-level PIN/biometric lock, encrypted data transmission, and secure credential storage to protect your data.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data to any third parties. Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:
AI processing: When you use Smart Log or receipt scanning, the text or image you submit is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Only the specific input is sent — no account balances, names, or other personal data. Anthropic does not retain this data per their data usage policies.
Family sync participants: If you join a Family group, your financial data is shared with other members of that same Family group as intended by the feature.
Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
7. App Permissions
Fundy requests the following device permissions:
Camera: To capture photos of receipts and payment screenshots for scanning and AI parsing
Photo Library / Storage: To select existing receipt images from your device for scanning
Biometrics (Fingerprint / Face ID): To secure the app with biometric authentication as an alternative to PIN entry
Microphone: To enable voice input for the Smart Log feature (speech-to-text)
All permissions are optional and requested only when you use the relevant feature. The app functions without granting any of these permissions.
8. Third-Party Services
Fundy integrates with the following third-party services:
Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore) — for user accounts and Family sync. Firebase Privacy Policy
RevenueCat — for subscription and in-app purchase management (when enabled). RevenueCat Privacy Policy
Yahoo Finance & CoinGecko APIs — for fetching investment price data. No personal data is sent to these services.
9. Children's Privacy
Fundy is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
Access & Export: You can export all your financial data at any time using the Backup feature within the app (Settings → Backup & Restore)
Deletion: You can delete all your local data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app. To delete cloud-synced data, contact us at the email below
Correction: You can edit or correct any financial data directly within the app at any time
Withdraw consent: You can revoke any permissions (camera, microphone, etc.) at any time through your device settings
If you are located in the Philippines, you may also exercise your rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), including the right to be informed, to object, to access, and to erasure or blocking of personal data.
11. Data Retention
Local data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Cloud-synced data (Family tier) is retained in Firestore as long as your Family group is active. If you cancel your subscription or leave a Family group, you may request deletion of cloud data by contacting us.
AI processing inputs (receipt images, text) are transmitted to third-party APIs in real time and are not stored by Fundy or retained after processing.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
